Hyatt Convention Center Hotel
Time Lapse Photos

Progress. The 1,100 room Hyatt Denver Convention Center Hotel broke ground on June 25, 2003. For over a year, work took place constructing the multi-level underground parking garage and the 5-story podium base.  Finally, by Fall 2004, from a vantage point in the Highland neighborhood west of Downtown, the 37-story and 27-story towers began to rise above the buildings in the foreground. Presented below are photos taken every few weeks or so from that vantage point, with each photo scaled and cropped along the right, left, and bottom edges to the same absolute position. In the foreground, the angled roofline is part of the Colorado Convention Center's 14th Street facade, and the steel arch is part of a ride at Six Flags Elitch Gardens. For more information about the Hyatt, go to Block 163 in the Central Downtown subarea of this site or to the project website at www.denverconventionhotel.com.  The hotel will open in December, 2005.
