This section of the Highland district
between Clay and Tejon/Umatilla Streets features
numerous historic homes and a charming cluster of historic commercial
buildings at the intersection of 32nd and Zuni--many of which have been
recently renovated and occupied by upscale restaurants and pubs. West
32nd Avenue, West 29th Avenue, and Zuni Street in particular are
seeing steady investment in new infill projects and building
renovations. Other historic commercial blocks are located along
Zuni, at West 32nd and Tejon, and at West 30th and Wyandot.

Hampton Inn Highland

A new Hampton Inn is
being constructed at the corner of Zuni and Speer Boulevard at the
intersection with perhaps the best view of the Denver skyline. The
facility will hold 61 rooms in a 4-story building. The project was
completed Summer 2006.

Umatilla Townhomes

This small 4-unit
rowhouse development was completed in early 2005, just around the corner
from the Dakota (see below) and the other cool restaurants, shops, and
condos found along 15th Street between Central and W. 29th Avenue. |

Highland Terrace

Highland Terrace is a
multi-building development that occupies the entire block bounded by
Tejon, Umatilla, W. 30th Avenue and W. 31st Avenue. The project
consists of 56 units and was developed by Urban Ventures, LLC which also developed the Monarch Mills Lofts in the Central Platte Valley.
The Highland Terrace project was completed in 2002.

Ayr on 29th

The Ayr on 29th project
is located immediately to the west of the Residence Inn property at the
corner of W. 29th Avenue and Zuni Street. The project consists of 20
for-sale condominium units in a 4-story building. The project's expected
completion is for late 2007.

the corner of W. 29th Avenue and Vallejo Street. The project features ground-floor retail and underground parking. Construction

remains a mystery for the most part. The project consists of 7 for
sale condos in a 4-story structure. The project broke ground in the
spring of 2006 with an expected completion in Fall 2007. The project
is being developed by Affinity Capital, LLC. There are no renderings

is planned for the north side of W. 32nd Avenue near Wyandot Street.
The development consists of seven
3-story live-work townhome units with prices ranging from $300k to over
$600k. The project is being developed by Portico Real Estate and is
