Capitol
Hill is Denver's most densely populated urban district with over 23,000
residents in 1.5 square miles. Once the home of Denver's 19th century
elite, Capitol Hill today is a mix of historic mansions, hundreds of
apartment and condo buildings of all shapes and sizes, and a diversity of residents making it Denver's
most eclectic area.
Only a
handful of infill projects have been completed as much of the area
is already built out. Most of the vacant lots can be found along the
northern and western edges of the district where old buildings were torn down in
the 1970s and 1980s to create surface parking lots for nearby Downtown high-rises. |
