Original Steel Building Rendering

As a follow up to my blog of two days ago about the historic Steel/Fontius building, Dave Dyer sent me another image from the Steel Company's newsletter--this time of the September 3, 1921 issue, showing an artist's rendering of the "proposed" Steel Building. Thank you again, Dave. This is good stuff.

By the way, I have it on good authority that the correct pronunciation of "Fontius" is fon-shus, not fon-tee-us.

Comments:
Yeah, yeah, I was just saying how I've heard it pronounced around town. Herb and herbs is all that is. Anyway, it's a moot point now, the name is long gone, left to the annals of the Colorado History Museum.

It's great to see a bit of Denver's history. Thanks for putting the work into it yourself. And of course thanks to Dave for sharing it with you so we can all catch a glimpse of the past.

I love the logo on the newsletter! Very post-industrialist.

very cool! i love stuff like this documenting denver's short and rapid growth.

What the hell is a steelite?

I notice that the windows are very different on the actual building from this drawing.
