New Uptown Project: 1915 Logan

There's a new infill project coming to Downtown Denver's Uptown district, replacing a nasty surface parking lot along the 1900 block of Logan Street.

The project, known as 1915 Logan, will consist of a 13-story condominium tower located at the corner of 20th Avenue and Logan, across the street from the Tower on the Park, with a shorter wing extending south toward 19th Avenue.

Here's a sketch of the proposed project, as it would be viewed from Benedict Fountain Park north of 20th Avenue. This image is from the
website of Oz Architecture, the project architect:

The project description on the Oz website says 1915 Logan will have 195 units but, according to the development review case file at the Denver planning office, the project will have 172 units. Also included in the development is 10,000 SF of ground-floor retail and 350 parking spaces. The property owner is CV7 LLC, represented by The Wells Partnership.

With the Tower on the Park and Grant Park projects already in place, the addition of 1915 Logan will help complete a nice street wall along 20th Avenue overlooking the park, and continue the revitalization of that part of Downtown.

Comments:
This is fantastic news, that lot has languished as a barren heat island for much too long - it hasn't even been used for parking for at least a year. Hopefully this project will help to stimulate development of the huge hospital parking lot between 18th & 19th and Logan & Penn which was home to the old Cathedral High School buildings. Curiously that lot seems to have been closed to hospital parking for a about a week now - could previously rumored development be near at hand?

anon 955, this is supposed to be where RedPeak was going to build an apartment building to complement 1600 glenarm, no? i thought they were waiting for the hospital addition to be completed and then they were going to redevelop, maybe now is the time?

Anon 9:55 and 11:30...the lot at 18th, 19th, Logan and Penn is slated for development by Redpeak.

Also, keep an eye out for the property at Park Avenue, 19th, Washington and Clarkson! That entire block is on Post Properties radar for development. :)

I'm keeping my eye on the that whole area of Uptown around 20th, Park Avenue, Pearl Street.... I think I'm going to want to live there when there are more choices to buy a condo/loft/townhouse. Very definitely an up and coming neighborhood and walkable to LRT.

About time already! That lots been fenced off forever.

I live in Tower in the Park and I am less than pleased that they plan on building a 13 story building. It obviously will effect a lot of people's views. Additionally, it appears they are building it right up to 20th St., which of course makes it even worse.

Oh, come on. You live in a tower close to downtown and are sad because another tower is going to block a portion of your view? Being a little bit hypocritical aren't we?

Posting on this site, you should know better. Now, if it's a horrible design.... you may have a valid point.

Perhaps, you are correct Paul. However, I still do not want my view blocked. In regards to the design of this alleged building, it is impossible to tell from the picture provided whether it is a good design or not. I am pretty sure that a 1st grader could draw a better picture.
