1800 Larimer Project Moving Forward
Westfield Development's 22-story 1800 Larimer office tower is moving toward construction, right on schedule. The tenants in the existing low-scale building along the Larimer side of Block 066 have moved out and there's now a chain link fence surrounding the site. Check it out:

Soon, demolition will take place, followed by the start of construction this Fall. Here's what's planned for the site:

For now, 1800 Larimer will be the third-tallest building under construction in Downtown Denver, and the fourth major project with an office component to get underway this year. Here at DenverInfill, we love urban infill proposals, but we love urban infill construction even more!

The renderings for this building are absolutely beautiful! It's great that construction is planned as soon as the fall.
I believe RNL is the Architect. Whoever it is they did a great job.
It will be a very nice addition to Downtown. It's a box, but a very well done, attractive box w/ a beautiful skin.

Out of curiosity - does the building design actually lean out like that - or is it just a trick of the eye?
If it does lean out that would be quite cool.

Sorry to burst bubbles... but this may or may not get built. No pre-leasing has been done here, and other proposed projects are seeing much more tenant interest, like Tabor 2, or the two other office buildings under construction (Hines & Opus sites.)
If Westfield starts construction without any preleasing, that will be a bold move!

Hey Anon 8:22, this is a spec office tower there is no preleasing required. So, this project will get built unless we have a total economic meltdown. And as far as Tabor 2, we haven't seen jack or heard any plans further on that building..so I think your facts are a little skewed. And let's not turn this into another "I hate this architecture thread!!" I had it with the last one!!
The architect is RNL and the project is targeting LEED Gold. Project is in for permit.
