March Could Be A Groundbreaking Month
March 2007 is looking like it could be a big month for official groundbreakings of Downtown Denver infill projects. One project that has already announced a March groundbreaking is 1515 Wynkoop (I'll have more on that project soon), with Spire, 1800 Market, the Museum Residence - Phase 2, and perhaps another project or two (or more) planned for March, April, or later this Spring. I'm tracking quite a few planned groundbreakings at the moment, so as these dates firm up, you'll find out about them first here at DenverInfill.

Groundbreaking! That is the key word that I've been waiting to her. Let's hope something really breaks ground soon.
So does this mean we can stop holding our breath on these projects? Once the ground is broken, is it as good as done?
I wonder how often projects get scaled down after they are under construction. It is a real thing that does happen - we know it happened with the Tabor center, with the second tower indefinately postponed still after, what, 20 years? I hope that doesn't happen to any of these buildings, and I don't know if it's even a relevant worry in today's economy.

And what's with the demolition of that garage on Stout and 14th? If I were a demolition company, I wouldn't want to advertise that I take two months to tear down a building!
It seems like in the past developers are very much allergic to any bad news from the economic side of things. So, even though the economy right now seems quite good, the recent trouble in the stock market and housing market may make developers jittery. Let's hope these projects are well on there way before we get any other bad economic news.
these buildings are being built on money they already have. The economy should not have anything to do with any of these projects. And the people they are marketing to already have there loot straight also!
Do really think that they are going to break ground on the Museum Residence Phase 2, I just checked and the developers have 9 condos left to sell and there are 9 flippers on the market, 18 condos.
