Here's
another of Downtown Denver's funky triangle-shaped blocks. This one,
like so many others, holds a mixed bag of buildings and parking lots.
The tallest building on the block, a 6-story structure along Colfax, was
recently converted into lofts. Next door to the west
is the oldest building on the block, built in 1913, and at Colfax and
Glenarm is the 2-story Diamond Cabaret building, built in 1949. At
13th & Colfax is a tiny building built in the 1980s to serve as a drive-thru
bank facility, which is completely out of character and scale for the area.
The 13th Street side of this block would make a great infill site for a
mixed use project that takes advantage of the high-profile location across the
street from the new Denver Justice Center. |
