Developer
Wes Becker had plans for a 48-story mixed-use tower on this block in
the early 2000s and received a rezoning and waiver of the city's
City Park View Plane ordinance for the tower. The lack of funding
shelved the project. In early
2006, Donald Trump and the Bayrock Group announced plans to purchase the site
and its entitlement to construct a 60
story mixed use Trump
Tower Denver. Unfortunately, a sale of the property could not be
completed and the land remains an ugly parking lot.
