This block
demonstrates along 22nd Street what much of the Arapahoe Square district was like, with two beautiful historic structures that create a
pleasant, pedestrian-scaled street wall along 22nd. One of these is
the historic Paris Hotel building, now a restaurant, at 22nd and Arapahoe,
which was built in 1891 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Also of note on this block is the building at the corner of 22nd and
Lawrence, which was undergoing a "pop top" renovation at the time of this
photo, as part of its conversion into residential condominiums. The
rest of the buildings and parking lots on this block represent excellent
infill sites that, along with the historic buildings, would create a strong
anchor for the district. |
