This
project also includes as a second phase a narrow infill building on Wazee Street that connects
to the main building by crossing the alley on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The
second phase should begin late 2008 or early 2009. |
The vacant
lot previously at the corner of Blake and 16th where the SugarCube Building
is now located was the single largest
hole that remained along the Mall's entire run from Civic Center to Union
Station. The rest of the block is a great mix of historic buildings,
including the historic Sugar Building, which was renovated in the early
2000s and now hosts offices and two popular eateries. After the
SugarCube's completion, the only remaining undeveloped parcel is a small
parking lot at the corner of Blake and 15th. |
