This block
is home to Denver's Civic Center Park, the formal City Beautiful-era park
designed by S.E. DeBoar in 1924. The park features fountains, statues,
flower gardens, and a Greek amphitheater, and serves as the emotional center
of the city. If a mass gathering of Denver's citizens is to occur--
whether to protest or to celebrate--it will occur at Civic Center Park.
The Park is also home to many annually scheduled fairs and festivals,
drawing hundreds of thousands of people to its green lawns. |
