This
entire block is owned by the City & County of Denver, and currently holds
the Denver Police Headquarters and the City Pre-Arraignment Detention
Facility. While mostly built out, the block does have a surface
parking lot facing 14th Avenue. The Civic Center District Plan
identifies this parking lot and the adjacent plaza along Cherokee Street as
sites for future development. Given the adjacent uses and the city's
ownership of these sites, future development will most likely be civic in
nature. However, to promote the strong street wall along 14th Avenue
as envisioned in the plan, the city should prioritize the development of
this parcel. |
