Block is
100% developed! |
This
block is fully occupied and dominated by the Denver Dry building. The
Denver Dry was a long-standing department store that went out of business in
the late 1980s. The building's future was in question, but through the
assistance of the Denver Urban Renewal Authority (which how maintains their
offices in the building), the building was restored and renovated into a
mixed use development with ground-floor retail, second floor offices, and
condominiums on the upper floors.
For much of
the 20th century, the building was painted white. To the right is a
photo taken 1993 as work was just getting underway stripping the building of
all that white paint. |
