With all
the increased activity along 15th Street due to the Convention Center and
new Hyatt Hotel, this block and its one vacant parcel at the corner become a
key infill site... particularly with frontage along the light rail line.
Additionally, the building at the corner of 15th & Champa leaves much to be
desired. Originally the back half of the Downtown Woolworth's
department store, the building was converted a few years ago to house
telecommunications equipment, but contributes only a windowless facade to
the street and pedestrian environment. Hopefully this building will be
replaced or renovated into a more vibrant use of some kind. |
