This
block contains the 21 story former Qwest Building along 18th Street, now
known as 1001 17th Street. The tower was extensively remodeled in 2007-2008
by Miller Global, which purchased the building in 2006. In addition to the
renovation of the offices within the tower, the entire three-story annex with its
landscaped rooftop plaza along 17th (visible in the Arapahoe and 17th
Street elevation photos from 2005 above) was
demolished and replaced with a modern retail plaza and new pedestrian
entrance, which opened in 2008 (see photos at right). Demolition was just
getting started when the 2007 aerial photo above was taken. |
