Block 072
is the tiny triangular block west of the short "parking lot"-like segment of
13th Street. Block 073 is the full-sized block to its east and home
to a great collection of new and old buildings. The historic Denver
Tramway Building occupies the entire Arapahoe Street side of the block.
The building's ornate tower at the corner of 14th and Arapahoe, one of
Denver's most beautiful historic structures, was fully restored in 1997 and
made into the upscale Hotel Teatro. The rest of the block holds the
historic Hover & Company Building (1901) as well as the modern Lawrence
Street Center office building (14 floors, 140,000 SF) and 43-unit Lawrence
Street Residences. |
